The current round is due to end on 9 December 2023, 6:00:00 pm game time.

It's been a busy two weeks as I have been the primary witness in a criminal trial, and it's not been at all fun, so I'm only just now getting to look at the prize pool. I should have an announcement on prizes within the next 24 hours.

At the conclusion of the round, the game will be locked down for determination of the winners and a reset. The lock-down should take around 10 minutes.

When the next round is started you will have all of your stats and doubloons reset. Treasure chest capacities will remain unchanged. Your admiral, privateer and explorer days will remain, and all admirals will keep a percentage of their gold (20%) from the previous round. A bonus of 25 gold bars is paid per valid referral to each pirate that has referred other new pirates to the game in previous rounds.

All fleets (but not flotillas) are removed and all enemies lists are reset. Your inventory will be cleared out. Certain items are perpetual items and will not be deleted. These include prizes from previous rounds, barrels of rum, treasure chests, and jail keys.

Your Notes section will not be deleted but all your alerts and non-archived mail will be removed. If you want to keep any of your mail, make sure you move each message you want to keep to a custom folder.

Now is an excellent time to refer your friends to the game. They can learn how to play and get a fresh start when the round resets. You get extra gold for referring them, as well as an entry in a private major prize draw for each level they gain before the end of round, and if they find End of Round Golden Tickets they are eligible for the prize draws.

There are many prizes to be given away upon the conclusion of this round. These will be announced soon in the General Forum.

Please note that general gold sales will cease on 9th December. You may still buy gold after this date, but only by contacting myself.

If you have any ideas for what you would like to see in the new round, especially quest related, feel free to post here, or in the Changing Winds forum. I am looking through the posts in the forum and plan on implementing some of the popular suggestions.

Progress continues on the bounty hunter scrolls (balancing their use and fairness), and achievement based player titles. I am also looking at redesigning the site and adding more ships. More quests are coming, they are written and tested, so look out for at least one of them in the first few weeks.

The 10th is on a Sunday. Any chance we could move it to the 9th (Saturday) so those of us who work on Monday have a day to play the new round? It seems like we have always ended on a Saturday night. Thoughts?

Reset is always meant to be on a Saturday. It looks like due to the time difference I miscalculated the date so I’ll update it shortly. I’m currently attending my Work Christmas party depending on what state I am. When I get home. I’ll update it then, or otherwise as soon as possible.

I should follow threads more often to know what is changing. I was still on the 10th for eor.
Left good items in my inventory unused. Left all my dubs in my chest, I always spread them out to NPC to give next round big scary pirates good targets with rewards. First time in a while I was not online when it goes to "Maintenance mode"
